I bought one of these to give as a gift, and then bought another to keep for myself. I ended up keeping both to use for playful sparring with former girlfriend. I have no martial arts or swordfighting training, so I am not qualified to offer an opinion on their effectiveness as authentic training items, but I enjoy them quite a bit. Be careful with use, as I imagine a strike to an unprotected part of the body could really hurt.
this is a great looking sword and based on the sword alone it was good. Mine got damaged in shipping because the box it was shipped in was too small, so the hilt end is "rubbed" and the blade is very difficult to get out of the scabbard. I hope that they can fix this for me. If they can, then i'd change this to a 5 star. :)

The only thing I don't like is that I didn't have the money to get two of them! I love this sword. I wish I could now get a wakisashi (whatever) to go with it. I've bought a lot of swords from various sources and have always found myself left wanting. Finally that's not the case. I'm only giving this thing five stars because that's all there is. It should actually have seven. If you're thinking of a good sword, real sword, but don't have the funds of Bill Gates this is the one. BUY IT!
I ordered this sword and was taking a big chance for me, but when it came i thought someone had made a mistake, this sword looks and feels like a much much more expensive sword.I have had all kinds of swords in my life but i've never seen one like this every detail is wonderful.
These are great practice swords. I've been using them for full contact sparring for months now. The only thing I've noticed is the hand guards tend to loosen relatively easily during hard strikes. Not really an issue. After using traditional wooden bokken for years, I'm never going back. I don't know why they're so expensive all of a sudden.
This sword was bought to give away to the winner of the Kumite that I host each year. I know the blade passed the paper test, the sword is well balanced and it is a very nice looking sword. The winner will probably hang it.
Had this now for little over a week Wow... Love this it is all real I have many other swords and for the price this is the only one that is the real deal.
